Review / budget tip: Twinmarkers Action, alcohol markers
Action has had Twinmarkers in its range for over a year. I wanted to write this budget tip and a small review earlier, but I noticed that they always sold out quickly. Now I see them in abundance in stores again :-). So now it's time for my article.
What are twin markers?
Twin markers are alcohol-based markers. This allows you to mix the markers very nicely with each other. You can see an example of this in the photo. You can also color areas evenly without seeing stripes like with regular markers. The markers have a thick and a narrower point. So you can color something quickly but also work quite precisely.
Sets of color twin markers Action
I notice that Action sells constantly changing sets. The sets I've seen:
– set with 2 colours, gold and silver (Christmas range) € 0.99
– set of 3 matching colours, €0.99
– set with 12 different colours, €3.99
– set with 24 different colours, €6.99
This is really very cheap compared to what other hobby stores charge for these types of alcohol markers. You can often buy them here for about €2.50 each.
I bought all the different sets with 3 matching colors a year ago. Last week I bought 2 sets of 24 colors with bright colors and pastel shades. As you can see, I have enough now ;-).
I can recommend the version with pastel shades, that is really my favorite.
Another tip! Do you often color people or images that require a light skin color? Then definitely buy a set with the number 36 Cream.
Short review Action Twinmarkers
As you may already understand after the many purchases of different sets with different colors... I'm a fan! I often use these markers to color things. With this you can think of coloring for adults or I use them when making cards. I often color prints of stamps with it.
Of course there are also very small negatives. You can see that each marker has a cap that indicates the color of the marker. This differs from many markers. So test the color first before using the twin marker. The hardness of the points of the markers can also be different, some points are very hard and others are nice and soft. But most of them are good :-). And finally, the imprint of the color number and the name of the color will come off when used. Not very convenient either.
Do you already have these twin markers at home? If not? Then I would advise you to run to the action store and buy them quickly ;-).
