Bullet journal #9: August, summer/Hawaii/tropical theme, incl. detailed pages
Today it's time again to give you a look at my bullet journal. I am showing pages from the month of August in the theme of summer/Hawaii/tropical. I thought this suited the high temperatures. This month I drew a lot again, but also used printed paper and clear stamps.
First I drew AUG and August with pencil. Then I drew a palm tree myself. I decorated the word “AUG” a bit with a clear stamp of a chameleon. Then I traced everything with a black fineliner and colored it with colored pencils.
Of course, the mood tracker also had to match the theme. I found a mood tracker with pineapples on Pinterest. So the idea is a bit from Pinterest and a bit from me.
In this photo the mood tracker has already been largely completed.
Pages with quote
I always find printing and ghosting (seeing the underlying page through the paper) very disturbing. That's why I like to get rid of this by pasting a page over it. I looked for beautiful backgrounds among my paper on which to handletter a quote. I found a beautiful watercolor background and a background with pineapples that also completely matched the theme in terms of color.
For the first quote I chose “you're one in a melon”. Very happy! I first drew the quote on it with a pencil. I then traced this with a black micron fineliner. To finish the page I drew a melon with colored pencils :-).
For the second quote I chose “aloha, noho me ka hau'oli”. Hawaiian for, be happy, be happy. I also first developed this with pencil and then traced it with my micron fineliner. For some extra color I colored the word “Hau'oli”.
Photos of the month page
Photos of the Month remains one of my favorite pages to keep track of. Especially because I think it would be a lot of fun for later when I'm old ;-). A kind of small diary report of the month.
I started the spread by drawing the board with the text “photos of the month”. Then I drew the areas where the photo should be placed with pencil. With pencil I drew the palm tree on the left and the leaves on the right. I gave the page some more theme elements with clear stamps (bought from AliExpress) of a parrot, chameleon, turtle, pineapple and toucan.
In this photo you can already see a page covered with photos :-). By the way, I use one to print the photos Canon Selphy.
