Bullet journal #15: January, theme Polar Bears
Polar bear theme
Actually, I hadn't really thought about the theme this time. I wanted something wintery. Until I finished the cover with a polar bear, then I decided to continue with all Polar Bears on every page.
Find examples of Polar Bears
On Pinterest I looked for beautiful drawings of polar bears and I copied this one. I find it very difficult to draw something from scratch by myself. But then again, I don't like tracing. I really want to have my own drawing actually drawn. To give the drawing my own twist, I changed some things about the original examples.
Of course there are polar bears on the cover. The original drawing of the polar bears actually had Santa hats, but I didn't think they fit well with January ;-).
I colored the background with colored pencils in different shades of blue. The snow clouds were made with a white gel pen.
The mood tracker is a bit different than normal for me. Normally I make a box for each day to indicate my feelings. Now I decided not to make fixed boxes but to let it snow. Nice and spontaneous without boxes.
I first drew the polar bear with a pencil and then traced it. To give the polar bear more depth, I colored the polar bear a little with gray.
Tip: unfortunately I made a mistake with the word 'quiet'. I pasted a piece from another page over that. This way it is less noticeable (The numbers next to the snowflakes are the numbers of the colored pencils. This way the snowflakes get the right color).
The mood tracker has already been filled in a bit. It's also extra fun because it really snowed this month :-).
The page with a Quote
This month too, a page with a quote/short sentence could not be missed. In the background a paper from a paper pad with snow. I then made 'Let it snow' with hand lettering. I first draw the text with pencil and then trace everything with a black fineliner.
Photos of the month
The last two pages of this month are again two pages for photos. I'll post photos here later in the month. On the left I drew a polar bear and a penguin. I drew snowflakes around it with colored pencils. The same colors I used for the cover, mood tracker and quote. I think this makes the pages fit together nicely. On the right I wrote 'photos of the month' with a black fineliner.
I have already pasted some photos onto the page.
Horse riding page
At the end of December I already showed my first draft of my bullet journal for 2019. I just wasn't finished with all the pages yet. I now also created my horse riding page. This is where I keep track of my lessons and can see when I have to pay again :-).
