Storing my craft supplies v3.0
I posted an article about it before my craft supplies and how I store it. Now that I was on holiday, it was time to tidy everything up and rearrange it. I just noticed that the layout was no longer correct. After more than 3 hours of clearing out, tidying up and rearranging I was finally satisfied :-). Would you like to come and take a look at my craft cupboard?
Cupboard with craft supplies
I will start at the top and show you the new improved craft cabinet 3.0.
The 1st shelf
On the top shelf (so far ;-), two more shelves to go and the whole cupboard is mine alone :-P) there are three bins. I bought these plastic containers at Action and fit nicely next to each other on a shelf in the PAX cupboard from IKEA. These storage bins contain my ironing beads, Christmas craft supplies and my... books by Keri Smith.
The 1st drawer
In the top drawer I put everything that has to do with wrapping presents and sending them. Think of wrapping paper, tissue paper, craft supplies that I bought especially to decorate presents, cheerful bags and envelopes.
The 2nd shelf
On the second shelf there are two storage bins, one with all my painting supplies (paint, brushes, plates) and one with all my wool. Next to the two bins is a stack of paper, sorted by colored paper, patterned paper and special paper, such as paper with foil and glitter.
The 3rd shelf
On this shelf you will find all my felt in four bins. As you can see, I can still make progress in the near future. I sorted all the felt by color and put them in storage bags. In addition to the containers with felt, on the right you see two more containers with fabric and filling for felt figures. The folder contains my self-made patterns.
The arrangement of the top drawers and shelves was not that difficult. The hardest part for me was organizing and tidying up the next two drawers. I think that is due to the amount of small things and many loose items. After some puzzling and a lot of repositioning, I was actually quite satisfied
The 2nd drawer
In this drawer I have put as many basic supplies as possible that are always useful when crafting. In the photo you see glue, scissors, pencils, markers, writing utensils and lots of washi tape. I am especially happy with how the washi tape is now stored away. At first they were in a large container (see previous article) and I was always looking for the right washi tape. Now I can see at a glance which tapes I have and they will no longer roll :-). The container I use for this is a cutlery container from IKEA, STÖDJA. The other storage box is also from IKEA and is called the STRUBB.
The 3rd drawer
This drawer contains more of the extra craft supplies that I use. This is how you see stamps, stickers, filigree supplies, string, embroidery floss and more. On the right side there are plastic boxes with small compartments, which contain my needles and embroidery thread that I use, ribbons and extra decorations for my felt figures.
The 4th shelf
The last and bottom shelf where you can actually find everything. Then think of projects that I still want to make, things that I use when photographing and a lot of other "junk". Oh yes, and also two bins of stuff for making one mini garden and jewelry.
That was the glimpse into the life of my craft supplies
This is my craft cupboard now. I'm so glad I cleaned everything up and reorganized it! Hopefully it will remain this neat in the near future ;-).
What do you think of my closet and the new layout? Do you like to organize your (craft) supplies?
