Crochet #3: Super cute mini animals
Today the 3rd article about my crochet adventures. I still really enjoy doing it... I'm probably officially addicted now ;-). Today I am showing 3 animals that I crocheted using a booklet that I previously received from #twitchristmas.
The booklet: Crochet super cute mini animals yourself
In December I received this booklet with crochet patterns with #twitkerst. The booklet “Crochet super sweet mini animals yourself” by Maja Hansen (available at Boekenvoordeel) contains all kinds of nice little projects with which you can crochet various animals. I was very happy with this gift. Of course I started working on this book. In my 2nd article with crochet projects I already made the Eric the Donkey from this booklet. Today I'm showing you 3 other animals I made.
The unicorn was one of my favorite animals in the book. So this became my 2nd project in the book. Crocheting the unicorn actually went quite well. Because I knew that the donkey did not stand up so easily, I also put marbles in this unicorn's belly and skewers in its legs. This is not stated in the booklet, but it is really necessary to keep your animal sitting otherwise it will fall over :-(. Do you perhaps have a better solution for skewers and marbles?
Many hours have gone into the mane and tail. I wanted a full head of mane. I used yarn for this that always transitions into other colors. I thought that suited a unicorn :-).
I also thought the cow from this book was super cute :-). Making it was actually quite easy. Only the legs are not that fun to crochet. Such a delicate job. Oh yes, the udder was even more difficult, pfff 3 single crochets in a ring…
Of course I also really wanted to crochet a Lucky. A horse that I have cared for for a long time. The legs were quite difficult again and the mane also took a while, but this is the result :-).
Do you have any great tips for books with easy amigurumi crochet patterns?
