Iron-on beads #4: Making cards
A few months ago I posted an article about it making mandalas with iron-on beads. In the comments below the article I was asked what I do with my iron-on bead figures. This got me thinking. Because it is of course fun to make something with iron-on beads, but at a certain point you have enough coasters ;-). This gave me the idea to make cards with iron-on beads. This way I can combine two of my hobbies!
First I started looking on the internet for patterns that appealed to me. I have largely copied and/or adapted this. I also started trying out some things to make my own patterns.
After making the figures I grabbed my cards. I wanted to combine the iron-on beads with other materials. When making these cards I used felt, fineliners and patterned paper.
I first attached the iron-on bead figures to the cards with double-sided tape, but I soon noticed that all-purpose glue worked better.
If you are going to make cards with iron-on beads, take the weight of the card into account when you send it. Unfortunately, PostNL only allows you to send up to 20 grams with 1 stamp. Unfortunately, my cards need 2 stamps!
