Make your own cards #6: Cards with watercolor paint and felt
I still prefer real mail to an email or WhatsApp message. That's why I keep sending cards by post. Every now and then there comes a time when the bottom of my card index comes into view. Time to get started crafting new cards :-). Today I'm showing my new homemade cards and explaining how I made them.
A few months ago I went experimenting with watercolor paint. I had so much fun doing it and the effect of the watercolor paint is so nice that I wanted to apply it to my cards. I bought a set of 8 white cards measuring 13×13 cm at Action. I secured the card with a little tape on a cutting mat. Otherwise, the water from the watercolor paint will cause the paper to bulge a lot. I applied the watercolor paint to the cards. I made 8 different backgrounds. I let everything dry thoroughly before continuing with the felt.
Cut and paste
Only watercolor paint as I painted it is of course a bit boring. That's why I have mine homemade felt patterns printed in a reduced size and cut out of the paper and then cut the pattern out of the felt. The patterns I used were those of the dog, the Sun, It little bird, the elephant and the giraffe. In addition to felt, I also used a fineliner, glitter glue, liquid pearl glue, buttons, silver adhesive foil and ribbons.
