Making cards #29: Christmas cards 2018 #2 clear stamps
Today I'm showing another way to make your own Christmas cards on my blog. I already made one for this year Christmas cards with hand lettering and transfer foil. For this second series I used Christmas clear stamps and craft supplies I had lying around.
Make Christmas cards with clear stamps as a basis
I made this series of Christmas cards with clear stamps. I bought these stamps from AliExpress (see Christmas shopping log AliExpress). But of course you can also use other stamps.
I made the print on slightly thicker white paper with waterproof quick-drying stamp ink from Memento. I then colored the stamps with Twin markers from Action. Then I cut them out with a small white border around them.
Different ideas for homemade Christmas cards, inspiration
Because I would like to show you different ways how you can use these self-made and colored images, I have made different cards. I used all kinds of craft supplies that I had lying around. I wanted to make something up ;-). I will name these per set of self-made cards. Many of these craft supplies are old and are probably no longer available for sale exactly as they are, but you can easily replace them with products that are still for sale.
General supplies that I used anyway: pritt, all-purpose glue, steel ruler and box cutter. I use empty standard cards from Action and Kruidvat that I had lying around.
Homemade Christmas cards set 1
These cards are easy to make and you don't need much. In addition to the images that I made myself with clear stamps, I also used a sheet of paper with silver foil with a Christmas design from a Christmas paper block from Action for the background. I added a piece of washi tape over that. Finally, I taped the images down with thick foam tape, so that they stand apart from the background and give you some depth.
Homemade Christmas cards set 2
For these cards I used a background from a paper block from Action with watercolor backgrounds. I'm really a fan of that block :-). I made the snow and the circle with Merry Christmas with cutting dies from AliExpress and mine Love2Craft cutting machine from the Action. I attached the images again with foam tape.
Homemade Christmas cards set 3
For these cards I again used a cutting die for the snow. You could also cut this yourself :-). To get depth, I taped the snow and the images back down with thick foam tape. This makes it a 3D map. I also used ribbons, glitter glue and pearl paint for the finishing touches.
Homemade Christmas cards set 4
For these cards I started with a holographic background from a mixed media paper block from Action. I glued a Christmas bauble on top, which I cut from slightly thicker paper with a cutting template from AliExpress and my cutting machine. I also used glitter tape, glitter yarn, pearl paint and wooden snowflakes (AliExpress). The angels are again glued to the card with thick foam tape.
Homemade Christmas cards set 5
Yes, even now I couldn't resist making shake cards. For a detailed explanation of how to make such cards, see my 2017 Christmas cards :-).
Hopefully I have been able to inspire you with these different sets for your own homemade Christmas cards :-).
