Review: Action DIY package “Make your own greeting card”
Today a review of a craft package that I bought at Action: Make your own greeting cards (see shopping log Action). With this box from Decotime you can make 5 greeting cards yourself. In this article I will show you what I made and what I thought of this DIY package.
The box to make five greeting cards cost €0.99 at Action. You will receive 5 cards with envelopes, 5 different punched sheets with images (so you don't have to cut anything yourself), string, adhesive beads and foam tape. I chose this variant, but I believe there are at least 2 other boxes with other types of cards that you can make yourself.
My first impression of the content is good. The cards are made of good thick paper. The punching sheets look nice and are neatly printed. All the cards will soon seem to fit together nicely. There is no work description included. The packaging shows how to make the 5 cards in 3 simple steps. The examples are on the front of the box. I personally think these examples are a bit small.
Time to start. The first thing I look for is the card and the die-cut sheet with images of card 1. Even though the examples are small, it is actually very self-explanatory how to do it. In addition to the items in the box, I also use pritt and scissors to make the cards.
The images come out of the paper easily. The fact that you don't have to cut the images is very nice. There is only one small disadvantage. Small pieces of paper remain attached to the image. I always cut this off.
The first card I made from the box. I made the card almost the same as the example. I just didn't use the Happy Birthday label. This is because I can easily send the card for other occasions :-). I decorated the inside of the card with the extra images that can be found on almost every die-cut sheet. So you have the option to also make another card like the example.
- Time: 15-30 minutes per card
- Difficulty: Easy
- Final grade: 9
The cards and envelopes are of good quality. The punching sheets are neatly and attractively designed. Making it is very easy and fun to do. And then the price of € 0.99… I say a big 9! Still, I find making and designing cards from scratch more fun :-).
