Recently I was looking at the Easter items in the Action and I found several craft sets. I decided to buy the Action Foam clay set for Easter. In this article more information, my experiences, tips and a review.

The set contains 6 colors of foam clay, 6 polystyrene eggs, 6 ears, 3 beaks, 6 sets of legs, 6 sets of eyes, 6 rings and 6 ribbons. There is also an instruction sheet and link to a video with a step-by-step explanation. Everything looks good at first glance.
Getting started with Foam clay set Easter from Action
I thought the chicks were the cutest, so I started with that. I soon noticed that working with the foam clay was enjoyable. The foam clay is easy to knead and soft. It also does not stick to your hands, but it does stick easily to the styrofoam egg shape and to each other.
The explanation was clear, but I still found it quite difficult. I had to be patient with the ears in particular. I rarely work with clay so I wasn't practiced. Plus I like perfection, so I had to let that go. I just don't have that level with clay, haha. After drying the foam clay, it seemed as if all the imperfections of the clay were slightly less visible.
When making the bunnies I noticed that everything was just a little easier. Apparently practice makes perfect, haha.
At the root I deviated a bit from instruction. I wanted an orange carrot. By mixing the yellow and dark pink clay I got orange. This was very easy.
Review Foam clay set Easter from Action
I really enjoyed making the chicks and bunnies. Although I am certainly not good at clay, my rabbits and chicks look quite similar to the examples on the packaging.
I enjoyed working with the foam clay. It kneads easily and works cleanly. There is enough foam clay of each color in the package. So if you make a mistake, you can simply use new foam clay.
After drying the foam clay, it seemed as if all the imperfections of the clay were slightly less visible. So that's very nice. The dried foam clay feels very light and slightly flexible. So not very fragile like regular clay.
As you might expect, I can definitely recommend buying this Easter craft set. Even if you are a bit older ;-). Have fun for €1.49.
