Shop log: AliExpress.com
Today a shopping log from a store all the way on the other side of the world, Aliexpress.com. AliExpress is actually a kind of Ebay or bol.com where mostly Chinese companies sell stuff. I like to browse around there every now and then: see what's for sale, get inspiration and of course buy things :-).
First I show my stickers that I bought. This year I have a very simple agenda and I want to brighten up every week with stickers :-). Not just any stickers, but stickers that look different than what you can buy in the Netherlands. So I bought 3 different sets.
I also bought two stamps. I saw these on the site and I really liked them. I wanted to try this one out. I didn't have to leave it for the price either. These stamps cost €1.00 and €1.40 when I ordered them.
In my search for a nice Chinese/Japanese DIY felt package, I couldn't actually find anything. I did come across this fabric horse and eventually bought it. Actually quite expensive, the horse cost € 10.72. In the Netherlands you can buy these types of packages cheaper. But I just really wanted to see how they design such packaging and write instructions on the other side of the world. Professional deformation, shall we say ;-). Luckily I got some free Pokemon stickers ;-). I will soon make an article about how the horse turned out :-).
And then the purchases that you stumble over on AliExpress: things for a mini garden at home. Better known on the AliExpress site as a Fairy garden. I immediately became enthusiastic about the idea of making a mini garden. So I immediately started stocking up, because I don't know this at all in the Netherlands.
And then comes the tricky part of making online purchases in China on a translated site, as you can see in the photo that the purchases I ordered are not all of the same scale. And I also got 10 chicks… for €0.23 I got 5, and I thought 1 ;-). The prices of my purchased products range from € 0.05 to € 1.91.
Now you might be wondering if purchasing from AliExpress is all safe and reliable. Of course I don't know for sure. I can tell you that all my purchases so far have all arrived. Usually to 100% satisfaction. Although it is sometimes disappointing, as you read earlier in this article about the scale of some products, products sometimes look different in real life than in the photo of the product on the site and then you also have the bad translations. Sometimes it takes 2 months before you receive something, but I have received all my purchases. Most providers ship for free, regardless of the low price of a product. Please pay attention to this!
Another tip, if you click on a product you can look at the review of the selling party. I do that if a product is slightly more expensive. In addition, the site also offers the option to file a “complaint” if you have not received a product. And you can get your money back. I also always pay attention to my purchase price and think that I think it is worth the risk. You can simply pay with iDeal.
And the last tip, pay attention to your purchase amount. If your purchases cost more than €22 (from memory, this can of course change) you have to pay VAT and if you buy more you also have to pay import duties.
